The Terezín Chamber Music Foundation has one of the largest collections of photographs relating to the Holocaust. The photos from the 1920's and 1930's lend new insight into the lives of composers before they were incarcerated at Theresienstadt. Images of artwork created by prisoners in Theresienstadt chronicle cultural activities in the camp.
TCMF's extensive digital archive contains documents from Terezín, including concert programs, posters, Freizeitgestaltung documents, and a collection of musical manuscripts written by composers who were incarcerated there. Our digital archive also contains records of these composers' lives and work before World War II.
In addition to the film and digital archives, we also have two collections donated by survivors and their families. These include the Ehrlich Family Collection, and the recently-acquired Mincer Family Collection which contains documents relating to the composer Ervin Schulhoff during his incarceration at the Wülzburg concentration camp.
Our archival collections are important and active elements in TCMF's education programs and publications. In our continued commitment to preserve the music and history of these composers and musicians, the Terezín Chamber Music Foundation welcomes contributions to our archives. Survivors and their family members who are interested in donating historical materials may contact the Foundation by email or at our office phone number: (617)730-8998.
